When I first got the inspiration for Uplift as a morning chakra tune-in and tone-up my vision was for movement meditation . . . so here is the practice in the description below.

. . . to live according to your true nature is to live the life of a buddha . . . . . . . . . .

o

. . . . . nature . . . . .

Ā

Adult men experience nature first hand through a woman’s body.

Woman knows through her body she is part of the larger body –

woman stops man plundering. . . .

.

.

.

Woman says – stop plundering

There will not be enough for my child

Man says

But I am protecting you

.

Woman says

Plundering is not protection

Abundance is protection for my child

.

This is NOT culture

.

Men plunder, women nurture

.

This is NOT Culture

This is not nature

.

The western myth of man’s superiority

To nature

Has led us to a spiritual and

Environmental dead-end

.

This is NOT culture

This is not nature

This is not living

.

Men have said to men

Why have your women not stopped you . . . .

.

.

.

In zen essence, we say

ā€œIf you would only breathe with the breath of a newborn baby

why would your spirit not stay connected to the mother . . .?ā€

.

Man forgets

The earth is our mother . . . . . .

to plunder is the end of living

and the beginning of survival

.

Man forgets to identify with the divine mystery

Woman forgets to remind man about the mystery

.

Babies usually remember to breathe

.

The voice of the mystery

Is spirit

Breath of life

Friday Tea-time . . . the zen destressing art and our teas | Peppermint or Moroccan Mint

It’s Friday again – it’s tea time and time to take time out for our tea-way ritual. This week the focus is on Mint, Peppermint or “Moroccan Mint”, a herbal tea that de-stresses us due to its long tradition and heritage of daily chilling: amazing for your tea-time contemplation on the awesome-ness of culturalĀ  connectedness of nature.

Moroccan Mint

This mint tea is famous in Morocco where it is consumed as part of the country’s tea culture. The tea is made using nana mint leaves and is often the first beverage offered to guests and tourists. It offers a delightfully refreshing flavor with a fresh, tingling finish. The traditional brewing method of mint tea was also developed to showcase artistry and add dimension to the tea drinking experience.

.

Characteristics and Qualities

Peppermint tea is popular around the world. Its health benefits rival those of green tea and its flavor is refreshing and crisp. The peppermint plant is a hybrid between watermint and spearmint. It’s often found in the wild and is extremely hardy so it can be grown in many home gardens.

Peppermint contains high levels of menthol that give it its characteristic cool, refreshing flavor. It’s often used in toothpastes, candies, and ice cream thanks to its pleasantly intoxicating nature. Mint also blends well with various flavors, making it a great tea base that can be spiced up by adding new ingredients.

.

Health Benefits

Ā

Peppermint tea is renowned for its ability to aid the digestive system. It’s widely used to alleviate stomach problems such as nausea, gas, and cramps. Peppermint tea has antispasmodic effects that help to relax stomach muscles that can overreact and cause cramping and bloating.

Studies have shown that peppermint tea has anti-parasitic properties that can fight off infections such as giardia that create digestive problems. Peppermint tea also contains antioxidants that increase bile production. This helps the digestive organs to more readily break down and process food. Peppermint tea is best consumed during or after a meal to reap these health benefits.

Peppermint tea can also help to improve mood and improve memory. It increases alertness and jump-starts your day without the negative side effects of caffeine. Research has shown that peppermint increases accuracy of memory recall. The brain protecting powers of peppermint tea may inhibit the development of neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Its no wonder peppermint tea is a staple in many households [and for many writers!].

As usual, I encourage you to inform yourself and if you’re instinctively drawn to a tea like Peppermint, Moroccan Mint, tea for your mind-body-spirit then gen up as much as you can with self-education. Learn more about our Zen Tea-way in my blog.

Inspired by the quote: “Zen is like a part of nature . . . it waits to be discovered . . . if you are the person to discover zen, its spirit appears as clear as day . . . ” (from Carl Jung’s foreword to I Ching)

as

you breathe in

and

as

you

breathe

in this way,

breathing in light,

breathing out negativity

which

does

not

belong to you

. . .

allowing

yourself

to understand

spiritually,

in your meditation

in this way

Sunday Spirituality | . un-clustering the living mind . Voice of Suzen zen poetry

Very few, if any, of your existing beliefs are your own . . . they will be clusterings of other people’s ideas, opinions and rules. If this is so, then very few of your thoughts will be your own or original.

Ā

Living Mind

Your buddha-mind

is

a living mind

–

and not

just something

kind-of

attached

to

the back

of your brain.

It envelops you,

as

a

subtle body

of energy,

and

works with you

and

your

brain-body,

your

buddha-body

,

,

,

through

the mindbody

dynamism

of

the brain

and

the

nerve centres.

.

.

.

It is a living,

organic

whole

within

the living

organic

whole

of existence.

.

.

.

To

un-cluster

the

living

mind

we ā€œun-packā€

the nests

of thoughts,

,

,

,

ideas,

opinions

and rules

–

to which many

of your emotions

will

be tied

or

anchored.

.

.

.

You will note

that

none of this

has

anything

to do with

your ego

or

will-to-power.

.

.

.

And this

is

because

we

are dealing with

the

Living Mind,

,

,

,

the ground

of

your awareness

which

is

fertile

and vivacious

and always connected

with

your

Unborn Mind

and

your

Eternal Being Nature.

.

.

.

The mind-clusters,

,

,

,

the nests are dead

–

they

are

old

and

outworn,

,

,

second –

or

third-hand

even

before

they cluster

and

attach themselves

to you.

.

.

.

You cannot

shout

at them

to get rid of them,

,

,

as

you can with the ego,

,

,

as

they have no drive

of their own.

.

.

.

You have to

just

carefully,

,

,

and patiently,

,

,

ā€œun-packā€ them . . .

.

.

. . . clearing

space

for

new

structures

to open up

in

the

Living Mind.

.

.

.

Cluster and to cluster:

a group of similar things or people positioned or occurring closely together.

( synonyms bunch, clump, collection, mass, knot, group, clutch, bundle, nest;) ;
